Sustainability Facebook Page
Opportunity:
In Fall 2008, Baldwin-Wallace became the first college in Ohio to offer a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability. Baldwin-Wallace wanted to raise awareness of the Sustainability degree and connect with potential students on their level.
Our Solution:
Baldwin-Wallace College established a Facebook page specific to its Sustainability degree to reach incoming high school students, as well as to position itself as a leader on the topic of Sustainability. Baldwin-Wallace also ran social ads encouraging individuals in its target market to become a fan of the page and attend on-campus events, such as its Sustainability Symposium. Facebook was chosen amongst the many social networks for it's reach among high school students.
Results:
Baldwin-Wallace College’s efforts on Facebook have not only helped it to build a network of interested individuals, it has also helped increase its organic page rank. Baldwin-Wallace now ranks fifth for the search phrase “Sustainability major.” In approximately two months, Baldwin-Wallace College’s social ads generated 456 clicks to its Facebook page.
